“VOLCANO” – Painting Exhibition by Pantelis Leousis at Mikra Thira

We are delighted to host “Volcano,” a painting exhibition by artist Pantelis Leousis, at our winery. The opening will take place on Friday, September 25 at 6:00 PM, and the exhibition will run from September 25 to October 2, 2026.

About the Exhibition

Pantelis Leousis’ latest body of work was inspired by the intense seismic activity that shook Santorini’s volcanic complex over the past year. As the artist himself notes, the experience was not simply one of fear, but also a reminder: of the immense power that lies beneath our feet, and of how small we are in the face of it.

Through the paintings presented in this exhibition, Leousis seeks to capture the fleeting nature of human existence against the timelessness of nature — how, with a single breath, the volcano can bring us face to face with who we truly are.

The Artist

Pantelis Leousis was born, raised, and educated in Piraeus. He studied Mathematics at the University of Athens and, for twenty years, founded and ran his own private secondary education tutoring school.

His love of nature and the sea first brought him to Santorini and later to Thirassia, where he has lived and created for the past twenty years, while also working as a teacher at Thirassia Secondary School.
